| Transforming
HR in an "Everything Connected" World |
HR
is facing two seemingly contradictory forces that require a robust
response:
- the demands for faster, better services for a changing, mobile
workforce, and
- the pressures from business to re-focus on strategic issues and
deliver significant cost reductions.

What is needed is a complete review of the function. The new
e-technologies of the "everything connected" world can be
integrated into a cohesive HR service and provide the responses
required.
This report is based on the practical experience of two well known
organisations that have transformed their HR over the past few years.
The first is the story of HR transforming itself into eHR in BT as told
by Duncan Woodhead, who has been at BT for over 17years, at the
forefront of the changes. The second case study is that of IBM, based on
a CBI report.

| Using
the Intranet to Radically Improve the Performance of HR |
| Intranet
technology is seen as an enabler which can revolutionise sharing of
knowledge across organisations, general communications and provision of
HR services. This report shows how Intranets can stimulate the
design of HR processes and provide tools to help improve the performance
of all HR functions.
Ian McDonald Wood of the Millennium Group (the sponsors of a
survey on Intranets) and David Brimlow of Barclays Bank share
their experience.
